The second day of our journey we were off to the Hill Cumorah. It's located only a few miles down the road from the Smith Farm and Sacred Grove. The Church has a beautiful Visitors' Center at the base of the hill.
The Christus statue is in the atrium of the Visitors' Center. Sister Smoot, a sister missionary serving in Palmyra, gave us a tour of the Center and bore her testimony. To our surprise, we learned she is a sister to the Sister Smoot we met and loved in Chicago!
Everything the Church does, they do it well. The displays and interactive screens were no exception.
Here's a view of the walking path to the top of the hill.
Look how gorgeous the view was from the top. Even though it was an overcast day, you can still get an idea of how beautiful autumn is from the Hill Cumorah.
At the top is a golden statue in tribute to Moroni.

The pictures, again, are amazing. I'm so envious of you visiting these areas. I so want to visit there too! And how interesting about meeting another Sis. Smoot!! What a small world.
