We traveled to Independence, MO to meet the new Mission Medical Coordinator and leave President and Sister Van Komen a sheep. This was the last sheep to be delivered.
On the way, we decided to visit Far West and Adam ondi Ahman. What sacred ground! We had both places to ourselves. The breeze was softly blowing and there was a quiet serenity to both places.
Pictured above is Adam ondi Ahman. Joseph Smith prophesied this area is where Adam and his family visited. Three years before Adam's death, he brought his family here and gave them a father's blessing. It will also be the spot where a special priesthood gathering will take place and Adam along with others who hold specific priesthood keys will deliver them back to Christ just before his grand and glorious second coming.
As we walked through the wooded area, I couldn't help but think of how sacred this ground is.
The top two photos are at Far West. When the Saints were driven from other settlements, they gathered at Far West. At one time over 5,000 Saints lived in Far West. Mobs and persecution persisted and the Saints left Far West for Nauvoo, IL.
Pictured is the area where four cornerstones to the dedicated temple are located. Doc is standing by the one that represented the priesthood.
Once again there was a gentle reverence here. What a wonderful experience to stand on ground the Prophet Joseph traveled.

Wow...you don't hear much about those places. Thanks for sharing your visit with us.
This is one place I've actually never been. It would be fun to have the whole family take a trip out there and visit all the church sites.
