On a whim, we took a detour on our way back to Chicago to visit the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, IL. This is our second time visiting the site.
The two historical shows are amazing. All of your senses are used in both presentations. This time we didn't look at the artifacts as much but enjoyed the shows and displays.
Lincoln was 6'4". Mary Todd was just 5'. They made an unusual couple. The entrance of one of the displayed showed several of the gowns worn by Mrs. Lincoln and the other socialite women of the time. Mary Todd Lincoln had an itsy-bitsy waist. Of course the corset would have helped too.
Everything in the museum is well done. If you get the opportunity to visit, take it. It is well worth the time and effort.
