The best part of our travels is getting rub shoulders with the wonderful mission presidents and their wives. How we love them! We met the Rhodes in a restaurant in Edmonton and celebrated their wedding anniversary with them.
The Pridays in Calgary hosted us overnight. They are pictured outside their front door by a wooden missionary they were given by a ward member.
Elder Mendenhall instructed at a zone conference in Calgary. The Pridays are such gracious hosts. President Priday wanted us to taste Alberta beef and took us to a steak house for dinner. My, oh my was it scrumptious!
Sister Priday is a master at her calling. She has impeccable taste and has updated and redecorated the mission home. It looks like something out of "Home Beautiful". Even more impressive is the Spirit that abides within its walls.
The zone conference in Calgary was one of the most spiritual ones we have attended. Our aspect of missionary work can be a bit deflating. Doc gets the calls from missionaries who are sick or just sick and tired. Getting the opportunity to associate with them in person and feeling of their great passion for the work and for the Savior helps us to see what missions are really all about.
